When brought to the Rocky Mountain Audio Show, the typical response of listeners was that this is what music sounds like, not some manipulation of the recording process, but the sound of real musicians as they play.

The III+ incorporates some the of equalization and crossover circuit from Dick Olsher's BassZilla design.  It uses an Aurum Cantus G2si ribbon tweeter to extend the highs to over 25kHz, giving much better imaging and air as compared to the standard units.  The frequency response is amazingly flat from 65 Hz to over 25 kHz.  Of course, putting a subwoofer in the bottom cavity would give you a full range, high efficiency system with the famous speed and resolution of Lowthers, without any weaknesses.

While the Medallion II can fit almost any 8" Lowther driver, the Medallion III was designed as a cabinet specifically for the DX series of drivers.  It has rounded edges and a recessed driver for better imaging and less distortion.  The front baffle is now over 1" inch thick for extra rigidity and more bass impact.

You can build the III and upgrade to the III+ at a later date if you would like.
